A Young Man’s Journey of Finding a Soulmate

Currently there are around 7 billion people living in Earth. Around 3.33 percent or 250 million of them are living in the United States.  Los Angeles’ local census shows a population of 3.858 million citizens. Half of them are female, and there is a good chance that in these million pretty ladies, there is a girl waiting for me.

(I don’t have that delusion of grandeur of dating girls like Emma Watson or Scarlet Johansson, though.)

I am hopeless romantic, and that is indeed a Top Secret. My friends will tease me to death if they know my not-so-dirty little secret. Aged 22, my love for sports did not help me become famous to girls when I was in college.

To avoid public humiliation from my nasty friends, I ventured alone in my own search for my next girlfriend. But where on earth will I start? Without fear of the unknown, I went to our living room, opened the lapto, and began prospecting on social networking sites.

One of the stupidest ideas that humankind invented is the word soulmate. This is among one of the ideas that I don’t believe in. Since my high school days, my classmates are playing a find-your-soul-mate game on school fairs. It was a nightmare, and it still haunts me until now!

According to a website, 73 percent of Americans believe in finding a partner through destiny. Really? Then why is it that America has among the largest percentage of divorce in the world?!

After debating with myself, I wasn’t able to even type a word on the internet dating site. I was exhausted and felt more hopeless. It’s like the end of the world for me. I am yearning the experience of love, like Maroon 5’s She Will Be Loved. I am, too, will be loved.

Then, a few moments, I decided to go a sitio Hispano (Hispanic site) for an astrological guide. I searched for the daily horoscope, which I found in no time. Then, I browsed on the day’s Horoscopo diario (daily Horoscope) and read. I searched for some clues, and I went to the nearest bar to unwind and search for a date.

It was a lively evening and there are many people who are spending their night to relax. I noticed that the ladies outnumbered the men. A local band went inside and sang, so I grabbed a seat and ordered a beer.

As I enjoyed the show, a young lady approached me out of nowhere and chatted with me. It turned out that she is a regular customer at the bar and she’s looking for a nice and decent man.

Fifteen minutes of funny and witty talk turned out to be the best moments of my life. The next day, we met again. We are still dating, but I am hoping that she could be the one; the soul mate that I am waiting for.
